I’m Here for You
Below are answers to my clients’ frequently asked questions. If there is something I’ve missed, please don’t hesitate to ask. For more information, get in touch. I look forward to meeting you soon.

What should I expect from my first session?
If you’re scheduling your first massage appointment, you may not know what to expect. Every massage therapist is slightly different in his or her technique, but there are a few things that ring true no matter who you book with. Put your mind at ease beforehand so that you can fully enjoy your massage in the moment.

Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?
Massage can reduce pain and anxiety for people with chronic illnesses such as cancer and can reduce the physiological burden of stress. It can help treat conditions including stress-related tension, cancer-related fatigue, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, low back pain, and depression, just to name a few.

How should I prepare for my first massage session?
The most important thing you can do before arriving is to relax. Remember, this is an enjoyable experience that is designed to reduce stress and anxiety, not to cause it. Take a deep breath and assure yourself that this process will be a pleasurable one, and try to remain open to suggestions as well as let your mind rest during the process. It’s important to do your part in the hours leading up to your massage to reduce stress and anxiety. Plan accordingly, and try to avoid the frenzied panic that rushing to meet your appointment causes. Remember to drink plenty of water and to avoid eating within 2-3 hours of your scheduled massage so that your body has plenty of time to digest large meals. If you have a massage scheduled on a lunch break, keep it light, as the massage process itself could prove to be uncomfortable on a full stomach.
